I'm ready for this week to be over...

and it's only Tuesday!!

Starts out Sunday morning the clothes dryer drum rollers crap out so I have to take my clothes to my brother's house to dry them. On my way home, a beagle runs out in front of me and I don't have time to stop (55mph on a 2 lane highway). Miraculously the dog isn't killed and the only outward sign of injury is that it's limping on its right leg which is the side I hit it on. My plastic front bumper and lower core support faired far worse (going to check on the dog today). Sunday afternoon my nephew and I take off for PA to get a new engine installed on his boat. We stop about 30 minutes from our destination at a Best Western to stay the night.

Monday morning, after a WONDERFUL night's sleep (sarc), I go to get a wake me up shower and there's no friggin hot water!! Oh well, off to the boat place. We arrive, as told to, at the boat place at 8:30 a.m and no one is there. About 8:45 someone pulls in and opens the gate. We wait until the person comes out to tell us where to put the boat. We ask how long the install should take, guy says a few hours. We give him a phone number and tell him to call if there are any questions or problems.

We went into Butler PA, to look for a transom saver and can't find one. We stop at McD's so my nephew can grab some breakfast. I contact Fred through PM on Pelican telling him we're in his area and that I could stop by just to say hi. Turns out I'm only 15 minutes from Fred's shop! We get about 6 miles from Fred and the boat place calls to tell us there's a problem. Mind you this is at about 11:30, two and a half hours after we dropped it off. We immediately turn around and head back.

We were told on the phone that there were bolts in the way for installing the engine and they couldn't mount the new controls. We get to the boat place and they've got the controls mounted and getting ready to set the engine in place. WHAT HAPPENED? No way did they work on that boat between 9 and 11 a.m. no way possible. We were told they would start on the boat immediately if we got it there first thing in the morning. So now we're at the place waiting. 2:30 rolls around and my nephew is good and upset as am I. Nephew goes to ask how much longer it's going to be. One of the owners comes up to my truck and asks me to move my truck for the third time since we got back. I had moved it to where he asked the first time. Boat guy says "would you mind moving your truck?" I reply "Would you mind getting that f'ing engine mounted onto the f'ing boat so we can get the f' outta here?" He says they're getting ready to fire the engine. I replied "it's about damn time!" He might have gotten the idea that I was upset. I can't say for sure.

The only good part of the trip is that I found a bumper cover and core support for my car at a salvage yard near Wooster OH which was on our way back. But as long as the install took, I was on the jagged edge of not making it to the place before they close. LUCKILY the owner was really cool. I explained the situation and told him I was going to be around 15 minutes past their closing time. He says "take your time. I'll be here when you get here". Nice!!

Meanwhile... as we're waiting for the forever boat motor install, I get a call from my life insurance agent telling me my policy had lapsed due to a missed premium. How this happened is beyond me! I somehow missed my annual payment back in January. So now I'm on the phone with the life insurance company trying to make a phone payment as my agent had told me. NOPE! Gotta fill out a huge questionnaire and seek reinstatement, even though my agent said that Monday was the last day before I would need to do this and to call and make the payment!

Now my shipping for my spring plate bushings isn't updating and only shows as a label being created for UPS. No hurry. I just need them to get my car back together to get it to the shop for an alignment that is scheduled.

Yep! I'm ready for this week to be over and it's only Tuesday morning.

Well, the good news is that things are likely to get better.

That does sound like a crap week.

Could be worse. Not exactly sure how, as it sounds like a pretty rough week, but I assume it could be worse. :D

Thanks guys! I got the nose of the Trex removed and mostly back together today from the beagle incident. The friggin A/C condenser and the radiator were bent and that dog LIVED.
