Jeep J10 Stepside

I don't think a more bad ass Pickup has ever been built. Chrysler should have killed the Ram and carried on this lineage.

I’m a fan. Brings out the redneck in everyone.

My 04 Ranger Stepside. Sold it about four years ago.
I miss the thing...the step and footrails made washing the cab a simple job.

The J10/J20 series from Jeep look like a truck , ride like a truck , perform like a truck and even smell like a truck 😁. They are raw brutes . I always liked the cab roofline , just a simple flat top .

With a 401 V8 and granny gear manual 4 speed you could climb a tree if you had traction 😋 . Back in the day a lot of forestry departments ran them . I always enjoy seeing a well preserved example .

I had an ‘02, looked just like that. Sold it in ‘06 or ‘07 for $7k. Couldn’t buy it back for that same money 16 years later.

I sold it shortly after that pic was taken for $2800...it had a salvage title.
The reason for the low price was that the 3.0 6cyl engine had the dreaded Ford Valve seat recession...and it was slowly getting worse. To fix it...it needed both heads replaced. I disclosed all to the buyer...even though it wouldn't always misfire...only when after full warm-up.

love the ford ranger, but it is a mere shadow of the jeep stepside. i agree they are both stepsides.

but..

yep--with the "Honcho" package and graphics--they were excellent. Made me mad to see the one destroyed in "Twister"

Great looking truck, the colour and wheels really go well together

porsche930dude 04-15-2022 05:31 PM

The m715 is more badass but i guess military shouldnt really count. There was a j10 stepside just like that here locally for many years it sat in the back lot of a pool place for many years it was mint. Then one day it was gone and later I saw it in a different town sat right nexto the road. It sat there for quita few years until it rusted away from the road salt. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1650072416.jpg

I thought of you, too. But that was too easy. People call my Tristar bad ass, but it's not even close to a Unimog. Or a power wagon. It's close to that Jeep, though, IMO.

The only caveat I would like to add for the Mog and the PW is neither is bone stock out of the factory looking like that. The J10 I posted is essential stock and looks like someone just rolled it out from behind the barn after twenty years.

I think that gets calculated by the foot or maybe the minutes?

Well here is the surprising part, being a diesel it gets about 14.5 miles per gallon. Plus it is rated to pull 22 tons. Which is way better than our Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.7L V8.
