Can’t stay logged-in problem solved

Like many here my Chrome browser wouldn’t stay logged in to Pelican (& only PP.)
Futile attempts included dumping cache; rebooting; deleting & reinstalling Chrome; loading MS Edge and on and on.
Then I came across a brief post by PP user JackDidley who in a single sentence solved the problem (at least for my setup) by just making certain that your bookmark for PP begins with HTTPS:// . If you try it, be sure your bookmark address has this in the address bar.
Hope this simple fix works for others and a sincere thanks to PP member JackDidley.

Thanks for the insight.

I’m going to try and see if This applies to my iPad.

One day I too was not logged in and had to log in each time. Then one day it reversed itself and now I'm always logged it when I visit. Crazy.

My saved link to this place has always had the HTTPS in the link. It is still not a sucure link, but it is a public board, and no need for secure connection.

I went for many years and only logged in after clearing cookies, or changing browsers. Then all of a sudden I was logging in on every visit, and if I read a long post or watched a video someone linked to a post. It would log me out for lack of activity. Then it was fixed, and then back to logging in. After each of the major crashes the board had I had to sometimes log in and sometimes not.

For the last few months all is fine.

It was not an issue on my end. It was the board software. It seems to be fine now.

I don't think I've ever run into the need to constantly log in to PP. I've had to login a handful of times over the years, sometimes after some sort of upgrade on my machine. Sometimes after, what I assume was a change/upgrade on the PP side of things, but I don't think I've ever had to log in every time that I visit.

Thanks for the info, Bill! Might come in handy one day if I run into this problem.

I love the Ventura area, BTW. So beautiful! SmileWavy
