Going to be mason bees when they hatch.
 pink evening primrose and green guest  I inadvertently interupted this texas garter snake while he was trying  to eat this little guy  night time visitors  monarchs  and bees on our Texas Mountain Laurel  Noticed this guy last night as he came out for the night.

And yes, last year while mowing I ran across a big furry fella too.
I took a few photos and left it to do it's thing.  for some size reference  next to the toe of my rubber boot for size reference  plus some other folks   Fortunately, this guy was too cold to care.  Eastern yellowbellied racer   More than any other snakes, this is what we run into around our property. We're probably at 3 or 4 to 1 of any other kind of snake.

My daughter and I were out for a walk the other morning and this little guy/gal was struggling to get going and was on the side of the road. I put my hand down in front of it and it crawled up onto my fingers and stayed there for a few minutes for us to take some pictures. I went to put it in an azalea and it took off flying around a neighbor's yard for a minute and then landed in a shrub. I was glad that it seemed to be okay.
