Car in Storage - Gas Stabilizer, Etc?
 

My 911 and Vanagon are in covered storage. They will probably get pulled out every few to several months, full insurance turned on, and driven or wrenched on for a few to several months, then back into storage.

(I have too many cars and wife got sick of seeing them parked around the house and paying for full insurance.)

It is in a big barn (I rent a space, lot of other cars kept there), dry, under a car cover, on a battery maintainer. Should I put some fuel stabilizer in the tank? Keep tank full? Scatter rodent repellent etc under it? Have a fan on a timer inside? Etc.

Weather is temperate (hardly ever very cold or very hot.)

I keep two cars in storage in AZ, both driven 1x a month, one carb'd and one TBI- no issues with just leaving them full, nothing else.

When I store my vehicle in the winter I remove the battery, inflate the tires from 30 to 40 pounds, fill the tank with non ethanol gas (Shell V Power), and then add stabilizer.
Come spring time re-install the battery and the car fires right up.
I've done it this way for years on my old 911 and now with my Z06

Full tank of gas for sure, because having air space in the tank will allow moisture to enter. Also fuel stabilizer. Note that seafoam is a lot cheaper than stabil. I use it in my regular (ethanol) gas I keep for a year for my generator (and then put int he car to burn if not used).

If there is a tickle charger, the battery stays on the car. I have never had issues with flat spotting tires, I think that'd be an issue if you parked it for more than 6 months. Adding extra air does help there indeed.

Just like Brian said, us Canucks do it every year, full tank, stabil, pump up wheels, battery tender, cover. Our winter are around 6 months here. I also out bounce sheets in the car to keep it “fresh”

Put the stabilizer for sure.
It doesn't hurt and if - for an unexpected reason you don't get the car out for 6 months it'll still be fine

I stored my Westy this year for the first time and used stabilizer, pumped up the tires and took the battery and positive battery cable with me. It is in a single enclosed storage unit for just the winter and will them move it home. The battery is on my workbench and gets trickle charged every few weeks.

I've got a 944S sitting up on jackstands to keep the tires from flatspotting.
Battery disconnected.
Tank full with stabilizer.
Also has about 15 quarts of oil. Kept pouring it in until it started overflowing.
No risk to the bottom end if its completely submerged in oil.

With the twin-cam head I won't even bump the starter until it gets a fresh timing belt.
