The Jeffs So, I mentioned the Jessica thread to my wife (JA, no contest) and she said she wanted to know why all the weird guys she ever knew were named Jeff and ask the Pelicans why that was so. I said the Jeffs on Pelican weren't and she said what about the poop smoosher? So, I am asking for her. |

35 years ago my brother named his first born Jeffery. I asked if there was any particular reason for the name. He said everyone he knew named Jeff was a really nice guy. Personally, I only know of a few people named Jeff, and all have been nice guys. Maybe your wife is the weird one! |

Pretty popular name for my age group (mid 40s). I have known quite a few over the years including myself and my stepbrother. Whenever the phone rang and it was for Jeff always had to ask which one. |

 The few I knew, were Geoff's |

What the hell are you talking about, poop smoosher? |

I have a brother in law. jeff.... put him through rehab to the tune of lots. was compassionate and really thought it would help. the day he left the 14 week rehab he went and got high. i was disappointed. he rails all summer and when it gets cold he puts the screws to his family every year with a hard sympathy demand. you have so much, help me. I am done. I am somewhat the example and voice of the family because i have worked all my life and have assets. I have advised the family that decisions have consequences and you must be responsible for them. it is tough but as the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished. life is real and no one deserves to be taken advantage of because of irresponsibility of ones actions. I did my duty, you reneged and now you can climb the mountain or not....... |

I knew a Geoff in HS. We called him Gorf because that’s what a sub called him one day. One of the smartest kids in school, astrophysics and Jet Propulsion lab. They aren’t all bad. |

"Uncle Jeff" and Ben. Ben was born in 1874. His brother Jeff sometime around then as well. My Dad, son of Ben, born in 1920 told me about who he referred to as "Uncle Jeff". Apparently on the other side of the family farm lived a married lady. Sometimes in the mid morning when Ben and Jeff were working in the fields, she'd step out of her house and fire a shotgun---twice. That was Jeff's signal to pay her a visit since her husband was away. And Jeff always obliged. Ben wasn't too happy about Uncle Jeff's activities and they had a huge falling out after Jeff paid some guy in the community $20 to claim he was the father of the lady's child. After leaving the farm as teenagers, they went their seperate ways and never spoke again. I don't know what year Jeff passed away, but Ben out lived him until 1963. When Ben heard that Uncle Jeff had passed, he made the trip to Jeff's town and paid for his funeral and burial. Funny thing nowadays, as the grandson of Ben, one of the few people I really enjoy seeing at the family reunion is the granddaughter of "Uncle Jeff". And I could care less if I never saw my remaining siblings. And as for the supposed child of "Uncle Jeff", I guess we'll wait for ancestry dot com to figure that one out and maybe a new participant at the family reunion. |

Hey Flipper, I agree with your wife, our son’s name is Jeff Jr. I call us Jeff 1 and Jeff 2 Tabs, Being from The Milwaukee area, we heard all about Jeffery Dahmer. Did you know his neighbors always wondered why he would walk the halls of his apartment singing “my bologna has a first name” He sure did bring a new meaning to, A sandwich is a sandwich but a Manwhich is a meal! See what I mean Flipper! |

Anyhoo.......Dahmer grew up in a nice area in Akron (Bath, Ohio). His folks had woods and word gets around that small animals were nailed to trees and eviscerated in those woods. Not only that, my brother Jeffery, is left handed. |

My best bud in high school was named Jeff Dahlgren. They called him Dahmer . Cool guy growing up, now a nut job loon who drinks a case of beer daily, lives in his moms shed and dishes out political justice on FB . I still love the guy but often wonder what happened to him, and how he got so bitter. I suppose a lifetime of substance abuse has played a role in his downfall . He was super intelligent , what a waste of a human |
