Recommendation for Free Music Streaming- Android

Hey all, I've had Pandora for a very loooong time. The free one. Over the years it's eroded as far as diversity and artists music catalog. But in the past few months, it's so bad now that whatever artist / station that I've created, they may play 1 song, but then it's anything but the music- ( artist) you have selected. Today I became so frustrated I deleted the app along with @40 stations/ genre's of music I had compiled over the years.

Is there anything out there any good?

Dude! Just "thumbs down" the stuff you don't like in your stations. I have Apple Music through Verizon because it was included with my phone plan.

If you have Amazon Prime, I think they do a good job of curating music. I ask for a station "play Metalica station" and then they play Metalica and similar...If I ask for Metalica, then it plays only Metalica.

So the problem is Pandora wants me to buy in to their pay service. I'm all too familiar with the thumbs fown/ up, ffwd. Their programing algorithms are out the window. As I've said, I had @ 40 stations comprised of genre's/ artists that I'd 'built over the years. Now selecting that station / artists I may get through 1 possibly 2 songs, then it's something entirely different. I'm done, tossed it.

I don't have Amazon.......

Spotify has a free version with ads (same with Pandora, at least how I remember it previously).

I was going to say Amazon Music but you already said you don't have Prime. For me, Prime is worth the music and movies, plus the occasional 2-day shipping.

Ok,

Wait... you don't have Amazon Prime? Not sure what to do in this situation. What do you do when you need one of something delivered to your house for free?

Use the money you save with Amazon Prime to pay for Amazon Music.

Do you have SiriusXM in any of your vehicles? You may already be entitled to their streaming service.

I don't order enough stuff from Amazon to warrant their Prime membership. Our trial period for XM in our new Durango is ending next week. Possibly if they extend it for cheap - I'll do that on my phone.

Unless, you see no value at all, when you call them to “make sure it’s being cancelled” just keep saying it’s too much $ until they get to a price you like.

I really didn’t want it. It was on my daughters car and the concept of radio stations is so foreign to her generation so she pays for a premium spotify account.

When I called to cancel, i finally got to the point where I was repeating myself, just saying “Please cancel my subscription“ everytime the customer retention rep tried to speak.

I think they have special offers for $6-8/month, probably without extended channels. See if it includes streaming on your phone.

I don’t have a SiriusXM enabled head unit, I use my phone and stream through the SXM app. The streaming feature was included in the trial subscription for my wife’s car.
