My new whip
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1653529601.jpg
I was hauling a honda civic on my old car hauler trailer, and I folded an axle right in half . Pa rust got it, right between the u bolts . I had it for 25 years and it has served me well. I started to shop for a heavier duty construction trailer, and for not that much more money, figured I could just get a big roll back . I have been wanting one of these for a long time . I had a pretty nice newer sierra half ton, and after about a year of ownership, found it basically useless for my needs . I sold it while the market was hot, and started looking . This one popped up about 25 miles north of me . East Brady, for anybody local who might know the area It has been off the road for 8 years . It was sitting on top of a small mountain in a field. 2 new batteries, a starter and it fired right off like it was brand new, only 92k miles . Zero, I mean zero rust . I will spend the next 6 months fixing up everything and pimping it out a little bit, then I am going to start a little side hustle to fill the void left by getting out of the rental house business I snuck it home Monday night under the cover of darkness, and spent the last few evenings cleaning it up a little bit My end game is to get a CDL, and a tandem roll back truck . I figure moving trucks and equipment around would be a good partial retirement gig instead of working at Lowes or delivering auto parts . I am almost as excited as the day I got my first 911 |
Nice. I hope the missus is doing much, much better.

Nice score, Fred....congrats, buddy.
I think you have something that will be a decent money maker for you there! |
Nice!
How was it there is no rust? Not being driven on the road for eight years? |
Score! Nice rig Fred!!
|
Nice! Congrats.
|
Did the previous owner just drive it on sunny days on clear, dry roads? Must have been a cover over it sitting in the field, looks shiny, dig the horns.
Show us some photos of underneath. I would be interested in how some of the rubber stuff looks |
Nice truck Fred. What does it have under the hood? Auto or standard?
|
I love the truck Fred.
And good game plan moving vehicles and equipment around. |
You be BIG pimpin now son!
|
I don't NEED one, I WANT one!
Well done. |
I think my kayak would fit on that!!
badass. If I won the lotto, that would be my first purchase. so I can use it to go and get all the other purchases. |
It needs a big logo for the doors. Fast Fred vehicle moving or something.
Cool toy. |
That's a cool rig!
|
Oh man that is cool!!!!
Gotta be many ways to make a buck with it. |

Nice ride! I had a friend years ago who had a towing company and pretty much drove a rig like that as his daily driver. His wife was quite a lush and we'd regularly see her Expedition on the back of his rig when he had to go get her :D
|
Sweet ride. Congratulations!
