This was posted in the old dealership photos Facebook group. Says it was in Amsterdam.

I would, of course, prefer something other than a wagon, but there's something cool about it.

The Mustang looks a little clunky.
Pontiac tried a breadvan version of a Firebird and Chevy did too with the Camaro. But Ferrari did it best. (Here's the Firebird, the Camaro and Ferrari are easily found on the Google box.) ![]()

I don't like it because it looks like they didn't change the coupe at all, just tacked on a roof like a Bronco. Doesn't matter, there aren't any. Some look good, some not so much.

Looks like a fairlane wagon. Which is a good thing.
Having driven a 65 Mustang for years, they are the most over rated car I can think of. The reputation is so much better than the reality. The wagon? I like it. |

One car manufactured in this style I thought was cool? The Volvo P-1800.

I don't know mustangs, can't tell you if that's 65 or a 66. BUT, I do know that the Mustang is based on the falcon, so for giggles, I checked out the 65 and then 66 falcon wagons. The 65 has a lovely airy roofline with thin pillars and plenty of glass - a really nice touch is the curved glass in the back, making the D pillar seemingly disappear. The 66 has a wider D panel, the whole thing is probably oodles easier to manufacture and safer in an accident. I think, just looking, that maybe the 66 wagon roof skin and a modified D pillar was used with the Mustang B pillars. I wonder how it would have looked with a 65 roof with all the glass.
