The Toyota 2000 GT

This has got to be one of the most beautiful cars ever created.

It's certainly beautiful but they didn't make enough of them (351 produced). Also a Bond car but they had to cut the roof off so Sean Connery would fit.

I especially love the dash board and steering wheel. I didn't know Yamaha was responsible for the wood work. Thanks for posting.
- Just nicely done. I'd certainly like to own one.

My local Toyota dealer has one in their collection. I have also heard rumors they may have 2 of them. Damned gorgeous cars!

IMO The most "desirable" Toyota ever made.

Yamaha was responsible for the motor too. Pianos, motorcycles and groovy heads for hotted up Japanese cars I think they added like 50% to the power with the head. Sort of like Porsche with VW, except Yamaha did it with pretty much everyone in Japan, Ford too.

Me: I need a fast, reliable motorcycle, a 24v V6 I can stick in a Ford Taurus, and a grand piano.
Yamaha: Well, you're not going to believe this, but....

If you can't get your hands on a Toyota, how about a Honda?

Looks a bit MGB or Midget to me.

Back in the day, I think the Japanese automakers were taking styling cues from US and European automakers.

I was wondering if it was still there. They had the 2000 GT and a old Toyota pick up in their show room back when I lived near the dealership 20 or so years ago.

Does anyone know what's inside of the side doors? (They're on both sides)

It looks like it could be an air filter.

Not his funniest Video, but excellent nevertheless. I'm really grateful for Hagerty to finance Jason;s videos, all of them I still giggle when I recall the M3/M4 one...

The "new" Mapunapuna dealership had the pickup and a Corona on display a few years ago. I was told the 2kGT was in a warehouse in Kakaako.

It looks like it could be an air filter.

The right side panel held the battery and the left held the air filter assembly. The hood opening was very low over the engine and narrow, so side access made sense.

Looks more like a Daytona to me. Bill might have been referring to the Honda.

Or even an Opel GT:

Considering Bill posted a picture of a Honda in the post while explicitly mentioning a Honda, aye, I'd say he was referring to a Honda...
