It really does appear to bend the conventional laws of physics.

slow&rusty 06-27-2022 04:26 AM

Impressive 5 second difference between this and the next fastest.

Big-time fan car, 2-3g of downforce from a standstill.:eek:

What a wild ride it most have been. Like a roller coaster.

They are going to make a "handful " of a street legal version. 7 figures.

Not sure how a street version could work. Necessary ground clearance alone would likely kill any vacuum, no?

I seem to remember in years past when watching the hillclimb that it was mentioned that F1 cars past year 19XX were not allowed as entries because of speed related safety.
That one lady drive was allowed an exception for her F1 cars, and that was it.

I'm a bit puzzled why they are letting cars that can match or beat F1 cars past that cut off into the event.
I've never looked into it exactly, but am getting curious.

Sounded like a video game or sci-fi movie too.

Very cool. I'd give it a whirl if they tossed me the keys! :D

Finally got to watch it's run yesterday, somehow in watching the live streams of the weekend it was never making a run when I was watching.

Its a fan car, and it greatly surprises me that they let it go full tilt on the course.
If the fan stops, the car is heading for the people.
Aside from that, impressive to see in action.

For real! I know the event is mostly exhibition but you can tell that sometimes the "exhibition" part is left at the starting line. They block the track with hay bales which just makes me think of Le Mans 1955.

Dang. That was fast.

I thought cars had to be historic or have a racing pedegree to race there?

Tervuren 11-07-2022 04:47 PM

The "NASCAR Truck" that went up a few years ago would have never passed a NASCAR tech.
