Cataract surgery today

So, will be happening in a few hours. Left eye first, right in a few weeks. No wondering how long it will be before I can get back to the 'puter...

Wish me luck...or not.

Good luck, sir!

I know several folks that have had it, and it went really well.

Good luck. It's supposed to be one of the most common, successful, & easiest surgeries with great results. I have developing cataracts - age related - probably like you and some others here. From what people universally say, you'll be happy you had it done.

The wife just had both eyes done in the last year. Far easier than she anticipated. Follow the Doc's instructions re: drops to the letter.
We'll be skipping posts about Mustangs and pool before we know it.

You'll be fine.

Best

Good luck, Paul...very common but no surgery, when it is you in the chair, is routine

I will have my left eye done on 28 July at Johns Hopkins.

Right eye, no issues.

When my grandmother got hers fixed in her mid-70s her strongest remark was "wow, now I can see how old I am!"

Good luck - I guess we'll all get them. My eyedoc remarked last year (at 46yo) that I'm getting them (slowly/mildly) them in otherwise very healthy eyes. Cost of ageing it seems...

Piece o cake! Best money I ever spent. I had glasses since I was like 16 or so and it took about a month after the surgery to stop trying to take off my glasses (which I no longer had) before I got into bed at night! First day the improvement was remarkable…been like a year and a half…still 20/20 with no glasses. You’re going to love it!

first day after is bad but it quickly gets better

once a day or so pass you will not feel any pain and can see again

so maybe 36 hours first 12 or so out or asleep then a bit blurry and itchy but it clears up
