^^^OK, the glow plugs and indicator on dash should 'lite' with first key 'on' regardless of ambient temperature. Since you have a another, swap the known good, let us know what happened.

Just throwing this out here, as I think this is absolutely wrong on the manufacturers part, I'm now more than certain I've seen it in person.
My neighbor Bob was a Korean War Vet. He was 91 last year when his cub cadet tractor wouldn't start. He bought it new, it was built in February 2014. His yard is perhaps less than 1/4 acre total with the house. Residential size lot. Bob seemed to always have his mower on a charger. I helped him last September get it going by cleaning up the fuel system as he had water in his fuel. Anyway, I distinctly remember the engine hour meter indicating 755 hours. I thought wow Bob, you've done some time on this thing! By December Bob's health had suddenly declined and Bob wound up in assisted living across the country. I'm helping Bob's son the POA deal with his home and of course, the mower. We moved the mower yesterday and I noticed it was indicating 820 hours. There is absolutely no way Bob put 65 hours on the machine between September and December of last year. So now, indicating 820 hours on the hour meter, it's a hard sell in passing it on. And that's a shame. I'd guess the actual engine hours on the mower are probably between 100 and 200 hours total. It is that clean. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/IRxJ5SXkzj4" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Interesting morning ☺️ . So I pulled the glow plugs relay from the 332 ( known good ) and installed it into the 430 . No difference on the dash the glow plugs light not coming on when key turned to the right . Turn the key to the left which is " test mode " and all dash lights including the glow plugs lights up .
I figured while I have the side cover off let's try to start it with the original glow plug relay . Turns over great but no start . Then I notice the shut off solenoid is not clicking or pulling back . I pulled it back with my hand and she starts right up. Mowed for about 20 minutes and the glow plug light comes on and stays on 😡. Then I noticed brand new radiator cap is leaking and then I start losing power . I limped her back to the garage and shut her down . Also last week the H2O light came on and I added fuel additives to all garden tractor tanks and 5 gallon cans . The H2O light was on for maybe the first 5-10 minutes of mowing this morning and then turned off , I am assuming the fuel conditioner did the trick . But both of my diesels are losing power after 30-40 minutes of mowing . My next attempt at repair will be two new fuel filters as they may be contaminated. On the 430 I may try mechanically pulling back the fuel shut off solenoid and zip tying into position just to see if that makes it run any different . My theory is the fuel solenoid may be " creeping/moving " towards shut down position due to vibration . That would partially restrict fuel flow . I am open to any suggestions . |
More unsolicited advice….unless you’re enjoying the journey, why not speak with the Kubota dealer, tell them you’re ready to do the deal but for some reason one of the tractors doesn’t want to start? Can we do our deal?
They’re in the biz…probably have it fixed and on the resale lot in 15 minutes. May agree and put the headaches behind you. |
Choc that thought has crossed my mind but I want to see if I can get both of them running correctly . I have been on a few JD forums and have some ideas on what to check . But no I don't enjoy the journey 😋
