Pre-Historics to HIstorics

Tomorrow starts my yearly sojourn from Phoenix metro to Monterey/Carmel. Roll around 415am from here to beat some of the heat. Probably stop in Tehachapi as my first night. Roll onto CA58 or some similar road to get me over to Paso. If folks have any interesting suggestions for Bakersfield to Paso Robles I would love to hear.

Will flag for both races, so get to see all of the cars in action. Tuesday of car week is now a great disappointment, no Concours on the Avenue. What are folks doing Tuesday? Werks for Friday. No Pebble Cars in downtown Carmel Thursday either. The pandemic sure screwed things up.

Looking forward to Monday and the Seaside Porsche get together. It has gotten very big in a short time.

With the thunderstorms in the area, I am thinking Phoenix to Kingman, Barstow then Tehachapi. Usually I do Wickenburg, Vicksburg, Parker, Needles then onto Tehachapi but that route runs through the Mojave and some big washes that can fill quickly with rain. Will need to look at weather in the morning. Right now predicting a balmy 84 at 4AM going to a low of 82 at 6AM. Also, flash flood watch until 5AM. Will need to be careful in my planning.

If anyone is leaving from Phoenix tomorrow or the Bakersfield area on Tuesday, would love to run with you.

Racers are lucky to have flagging help from so far.
Temperatures at the track should be cool.
Safe trip, see you last session every day.
Agree smaller crowds but no less fun, nothing like it.
Sent you a PM.

Looks like the old Red Lobster March in the red and white "Grand Prix" livery. (I'm probably way off. The perspective is a little unforgiving) Cab forward design, bet that was an eyeful at 200MPH in the dark on the banks of Daytona!

Looks good!
LeMans race cars and Historic F1 are amazing.
Ask about Ron Dent?
See you Tuesday.
