Changing the AC condenser in a Cayenne is a PITA

There are no tech articles on this. The Tourareg community has some stuff but the plastic in the front end is all different. Feels like I will be building a Cayenne from scratch once I get the old condenser out…

Looks like the bumper cross bar needs to come off?

Looks to me you need remove the plastic top cover, hood latch mechanism, the lines and come up and out with it. You may need to lay the radiator back towards the motor.

Any chance it can be removed by lowering it or is the frame in the way? That looks like a $5K job at a dealer.

The condenser may be covered by the body shop that repaired the vehicle after it was wrecked. Just a thought.

So that plastic top cover is part of the plastic rad support (the entire front end). I have it loose now but the hood latch cable won’t let me remove it. I think I can pull the condenser out now but had to take a break to bring a sick cow to the vet…

Trying to decide if I should go back out to the shop or drink beer… or maybe take the boat to the lake.

3 options......2 of them are better than the other one.
