^^^ I remember fishing for turtles when I was a kid. Throw a short 2X4 with a line tied to it with meat on the hook into the lake. Let it float until you see it dragged away. Haul it up and take the turtle home..hold it sideways and halve it with a hatchet. Turtles the size of mine would not be worth it.
They know the word 'soup'....they never forget.
