House of the Dragon - Game of Thrones
Is anyone else watching this show? If you liked GOT, you will like HOD too. I think it’s worth the subscription to HBO Max.

I watched GoT and have been watching HoD - I think HoD is overall decent, but a few of the problems I have with it are that the pacing of the episodes is often remarkably slow, there is almost zero humor (none of the witty banter that was common from some key characters in GoT) and I don't think there is a single likable character in HoD, whereas there were several in GoT.

Not really that good, IMO.

It's nowhere near as good as GoT was, but.... it's getting more interesting now... Not a huge fan of the jump ahead 10y, the obvious "daylight scenes" displayed with a night filter (doesnt look right at all), or my favorite, the stuff shot in the dark where you see fu%kall.
No comment on the brother on sister action, I suppose it was in the books... |

We have been watching enthusiastically, but I agree with some of the nighttime scenes. I don’t care to see the uncle and niece thing, but at least lighten the frames up so that I can tell who it is!
Other than that, I think it’s pretty good. Sure, it’s slow burn, but it is meant to be. |

Yeah the show had a bit of a slow start to set everything up (though I loved the characters and acting), but man is it getting lively now.
Viserys' actor has an emmy in the bag, too, absolutely riveting performance. |

Agreed. Episode #8 was great. I suspect there will be a slight lull after episode #8, but I doubt it will be too bad. Can't wait to watch #9.

I’m also in the “ambivalent until Ep8” crowd. Paddy Considine just crushed it in that episode. It’s unfortunate that we don’t get to see him anymore.
