Transfer Pumps

Going to need to do an oil change on the Jag at some point.

It doesn't have a drain plug, you suck the old oil out through the fill / dipstick tube.

Seems most use the manual vacuum pumps which seem to make the most sense because it goes into the container that you can just run up to the recycler and dump out.

Average price $60-80.

But there are also small electric pumps which seem like far less work and they are pretty cheap, $20-30. Need to sort a container.

But then this popped up and has me scratching my head.

It's the $20 pump screwed to a $10 2 gallon bucket going for $190.00.

Its got ~300 reviews which we know is a good amount less than what they actually sold so even if 1 of 2 buyers leaves a review that's 600 units.

All in COG's on that thing can't be more than $50 assembled and out the door.

Even in if COGS are $80 that's still $100 profit or $60k.

Am I missing something or should I check Alibaba for bulk pumps and go into business? Seems less risky and more profitable for minimal work than buying storage units.

I used the manual version of your first one without problems. Well, actually the engine held more oil than the container, so I had to empty it out once.

Do the second one. I use a similar pump at my day job pumping HF(hydrofluoric acid) from small pails to 55 gallon drums.... they go slow but self prime and aren't that messy.
