Lowering Blood Pressure
Started checking blood pressure 2 months ago at Walmart. I know the machines might not be the most accurate. The pressure was consistently, around 130/90. Been really, busy with work. No time to make an appointment.
Already eating a healthy diet and going to the gym 4 nights/week. been trying to end a bad habit/addiction from my earlier years playing baseball. so, I quit chewing snuff. tough habit to break.Checked several times at different times during the day.Now my BP is 120's/70's. Today's reading 110/70 with heart rate 60. |

As an "old guy" who has learned better GO SEE A DOCTOR! Now that is out of the way there are several things that can cause high or even low blood pressure and a complete blood/heart/kidney work up can get you on the track to possibly live longer.
Back in 1984 I was racing bicycles I.E. road, track and fun rides like the Tecate to Ensenada rides (first one and several with my daughter on our tandem) and my waking heart rate was 40 BPM and I could jump my heart rate to 220 BPM for a few seconds during a sprint BUT....in a race in Delmar CA as I was climbing the hill back into town about halfway through a 20lap veteran's race I woke up, laying on the ground with an EMT slapping my cheeks saying "John wake up, John wake up" over and over. Once I could say what happened, he said you passed out and fell over, nearly scared your wife half to death! He then asked do you what your BP is right now and I said nooooo, he said it is 220 0ver 150 and we took it several times! My wife said "take him to Balboa Naval Hospital since I had a year before retirement, she wanted to keep me alive. Away I went and the rest is history, even though I weighed 150# and rode my bike 400 miles a week and ran 20 miles a week (more or less) my BP was due to an ulcer and plugged arteries and the doctor transferred me off the USS Texas and to the hospital as he did not want me getting a heart attack! It took 4 months of doing nothing to get my BP down to 120 over 65! I have made it to 2022 and I turned 77 last May so now I am way more careful, check my BP several times a day after a quad bypass and suggested by my heart doctor. John |

Many years ago I remember hearing of an article in some German medical journal about the sight of womens' breasts bringing down mens' blood pressure.
