Life it too short for cheap sockets :D

Por_sha911 09-06-2022 08:58 AM

Wouldn't it be more appropriately called the
Holy RAIL? :D

island911 09-06-2022 09:25 AM

HA! Joe - good one.

Their marketing dept should hire you.

Nice kit, but a 1/2" drive on a 10mm? How much torque do you need on the little fastener?

I think I would rather have a 12-point or two in the set.

Gogar 09-06-2022 09:38 AM

just enjoy the joke glen

Yet...there it is...I have one. Smallest size on a TEKTON 1/2" drive 6 point set I bought..runs from 10 to 32, no skips. Have yet to find a need, so your point is valid.
Yes, Tiawan...but appear to be very well made. If anything, a bit better than my old USA craftsman sockets.

Brilliant marketing by Harbor freight...might pick it up just for the joke. Hell, might buy two. Get one for a friend's birthday...he'd laugh his ass off, especially if I steal Joe's holy rail line.

The Freights 1/2 drive impact sockets have a 10MM. And it's a 12 point.

Best to use the 3/4 Earthquake with a step down reducer to 1/2 drive for maximum torque.

I've used the 1/2" when I need some elaborative extensions. Also done it the other way.

The ½ inch drive 10m socket is for when you've misplaced your ¼ and ⅜ ratchets

I understand the joke of 10mm sockets vanishing. All of my tools can transport themselves around and be found in places no sane person would ever set them down. However, I always find them, and I have never in my life lost a 10mm socket. Or really any socket. Sometimes one will hide until the project is over and I am doing the final cleanup of the tools and putting them away in the tool box.

I still use the set of sockets I bought for my 1960 VW bug back in 1970. The chrome is pretty worn down, and I did break the 14mm and had to replace it. Not one socket is lost.

I bought a car and later found a socket wedged between the motor and the mount (or maybe the exhaust header). It rode around there for a long time.

It won’t matter, since it’ll soon be lost.

VINMAN 09-06-2022 05:15 PM

10mm sockets are one thing I never lose. I have a crap load of them.

On the other hand.... 1/2", 3/8 drive regular and deep, They magically vanish on me all the time.

Whenever I go to flea markets and the like, I always snatch them up when I find good ones.

Have you ever been working on your car, you start looking for a tool and for the life of you, you can’t find it. Only after standing up, you notice that you’ve been sitting on the damn thing the whole time.😂

I have some things that I've had forever or were my father's that I never use anymore 'cause I don't want to lose them.
