Motorcycle Chat: Your season thus far
What have you been riding? Where? Any mods planned?
I can typically only ride 1 day on a weekend. I've manage to put close to 1200 miles of Ohio twisties and county roads on my Enfield INT650. SE Ohio is fantastic riding, the foothills of Appalachia. Love with the bike thus far, but I will put in a couple mods. Heavier springs and heavier oil in the forks. Already have the pipes, going to do an aftermarket filter and airbox mod. I question any real power gains, but I will do it for the intake rasp alone. Rear shocks are kinda odd given the other styling queues on the bike, but they work ok for my purposes. Stock seat was not terrible, but I did spring a few $ for their 'touring' seat. Don't buy one if you don't like talking to folks, because I've had 4 different conversation with 4 different bikers in one fuel stop ![]() ![]()

Been putting some miles on this 2004 XL 1200 Roadster that I picked up a few weeks ago. They only made these for three years with the rubber mounted engine, but still carbureted. Had to search for quite a while to find one that some previous owner had not butchered.

Other than the DGR a few weeks ago nothing much.
I did an over the handlebars a week ago. The Honda trail bike front wheel went into a rut, but I was completely OK and so was the bike, so all good. |

I started riding dirt bikes a year ago. Bought 4 and sold 3. Very pleased with this one.
2018 TX300. Supposed to ride tomorrow but we are getting about 2” of rain and that will make things unbelievably sloppy. Also have a bunch of things to do. No riding this weekend but it has become my obsession. Best therapy I have ever found. Also super rewarding to wrench on. I could talk dirt bikes about every waking hour. It’s that bad. Braaap! ![]() |

I'm currently planning on hitting the road on my Monster next week.
![]() oops wrong picture ![]() This year is a test for me. If I do well then all good, if not then time to go to a trike.

doing my part to keep the mosquito population at bay. motul 2 stroke mix keeping it to a minimum. fresh Wisecos installed, fresh rubber. the toomie expansion chambers require a bit of low rev slinking to get outta town.
been a bit wet up here. no meaningful 850 Super Tenere dual sport action, yet. ![]() |

Some great looking bikes, gents! Love that opening photo of your Enfield, Josh - sweet! And congrats on the HD acquisition, Kurt. Always love the Sportster.
Some may remember this past year I acquired the '06 Ninja 500 and the '77 R75/7. But this morning I got one of my old '87 VFR's running again. This is the most recent one acquired back in 2019. Don't laugh - I know it's a beater but at some point she will get restored. Choke is still on here & I have all the fairings removed and the seat, obviously ![]() Kerker kicks..... ![]()

Ha, first thing I saw was the Kerker pipe. That's awesome. That was mandatory back then. I still have one on my 86 Red/black GSXR.

Thank ya Sir, you should check out the Mid-Atlantic BDR (MABDR) it goes through remote parts of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Or the North-East BDR (NEBDR) which goes from New York up to Connecticut. After Colorado, one of these will be the next BDR we do. Beautiful country and lots of roads to ride.

You are a bad man. I had no idea the whole BDR thing was a thing.
I’m working it. Best and enjoy. Last edited by Seahawk; 06-11-2022 at 01:23 PM.. |

The 33/220/250 loop is a regular for me, 15 min from home. Its beautiful, but the road surface can be iffy on a sportbike at times.

Do you slab 29 to 33? Crossing the two forests on 33 is nice...short but nice. Try 20 and 15 south of Buckhannon and East of Gassaway.
