Rock Crawling in my Side x Side.

35" tires, 16" of ground clearance, and low gearing make for a fun day of crawling.

They are making pretty darn amazing machines right off the showroom floor. Some of them are crazy fast too, like a Trophy Truck with a warranty.

HobieMarty 09-10-2022 06:42 AM

Man that thing is super cool!!!

Kawasaki KRX 1000 is a stellar machine out of the box, Polaris RZR owners seem to always be wrenching on them.

Seahawk 09-10-2022 08:49 AM

For the money, that is amazing.

My off-road motorcycle days are behind me, but the KRX could scratch an itch.

Nothing against a side x side, but
I can build a decent CJ rock crawler
for $20499 (base price)

Dantilla 09-11-2022 04:06 AM

Did it come with 35", or did you upgrade?

masraum 09-11-2022 07:26 AM

Things have come a long way since

No way it came with 35s but that's so cool. I'm sure you needed to change the gearing for those. Must be 15" rims? I have 35s on my CJ and had to customize plenty to do that

Do it. I bet you can't get a running CJ for $20k these days.

My old rig after a long destructive weekend at Ocotillo Wells (TDS 2001)...these are 33s, I ended up on 37s when we did the solid axle swap in front

Good thing for you that I don't gamble.
A quick check on CL and I found a bunch of them.

Crawling over those rocks has to leave some battle scars?

I just rented a RZR 1000 in Moab yesterday.. ! I was completely amazed at the type of terrain that thing would crawl over without a hiccup.. of course, Moab is the rock crawler capital so trust me when I saw some gnarly terrain out here! and I saw some crazy high dollar machines out on the trails.. !
