Any early adopters using iOS 16 yet?

Installed this afternoon. No problems, no stories. Sorry.

herr_oberst 09-12-2022 03:36 PM

That's good! That's what I want to hear!

I have a iPhone 11 Pro. It runs 15.7 as the latest update.

^ I was under the impression that 16 will work as far down as the 8?

That’s what I read. I’ve got a 12 mini and installed iOS 16 today with no problem.

Halm 09-12-2022 04:43 PM

My phone is an 11.

GH85Carrera 09-12-2022 04:49 PM

I just checked for updates and it said I was up to date. I may have to wait a few days.

Have your phone request updates again. When it comes back saying you are up to date, look at the very bottom of the screen. Should be an option for iOS 16.

Yep. Looks pretty interesting so far---I'll toy with some of the new features later.

Again, lots of required security updates, so it will be mandatory

OK, I see that. I may wait a day or two. I bet there is a 16.01 update real soon. They always have a patch for the new OS shortly after the real world gets it and finds bugs or flaws.

It would be interesting to know how much data it requires for Apple to send an update to all the millions of iPhones currently in operation. I am sure they have servers all over the planet to service the customer demand.

Don't do it!

Guys who’ve updated to 16, any issues with shortened battery life?

Ronbo 09-13-2022 04:26 PM

I have iOS 16 on my phone (iPhone X) and the 16.1 beta on my iPad and I have no battery issues with either.

A930Rocket 09-13-2022 06:02 PM

I’ve always been hesitant, because when I’ve updated, the phone has always screwed up. So far, my phone has not updated.
