Very tragic. 1000% agree about the slow cars vs. fast cars these days. When I lived out in the OC/LA area I used to love driving my slightly modded '84 Carrera relatively fast on the various Canyon roads out there, including ACH and Ortega (gotta be early on that one). But my 2009 C4S showed me that its limits were so high that I had to really push the speed envelope if I wanted to have anywhere near the fun I'd had in my '84. Movin' on up to my 991 GTS and the game moved well forward again. I realized that I couldn't even remotely safely push that 991 GTS to anywhere near its limits on those canyon roads without putting myself and others in potentially grave danger, which is not what I signed up for, so the formerly fun canyon drives in the '84 started to become sort of boring as I felt like I was just cruising really.

I can't even imagine how much further on the limits of a GT3 would be, but suffice to say I see no benefit to really owning a GT3 any more these days, simply because I'd never really be able to enjoy the incredible capabilities of those beasts out on public roads. It'd have to be on a racetrack.

Now that I'm in Florida, there are no more canyon roads to play on anymore so I'm left to simply just enjoy my Porsches for what they are - well built, beautiful, and nice driving cars (even at cruising speeds).

Maybe I'll get the GTS out to Sebring one of these days.

You all are dangerous..

It was the roads fault. Every road has it's limit and if you drive faster on what the road will bear you crash.

Since this GT3 is the most powerful car in the world and will plain kill you if you exceed the limits you have to ask yourself can I do 100% on this road today or just 90%..and in all of this excitement I just plain lost track..so punk do you feel lucky today...

Let's face it, they're boring at civilian speed. The fun starts at triple posted limits. Posted 30MPH curve? 60 is easy while adjusting the stereo and checking your FB status. 90 on that same curve probably requires you to put the phone down and focus a bit, but we're just starting to tap into its performance capabilities. ***** happens really fast on a public road at those speeds.

this is why super cars are a dumb idea. its also why road driving is literally pointless.

my double digit hp miata, on super 200s, can do double the speed limit no trouble on most back roads. i have no idea what you would do with a GT3 on the street. the only thing slowing you down on the street is fear of death, and the law. neither are a good idea to play with.

driving fast is for the race track.
