My wife used the same eye surgeon, an ophthalmologist that I do. Her cataracts were bad enough that contacts could not get her vision corrected properly. She kept asking for his opinion, and he said to wait just a little longer.
She finally had hers done. One eye at a time of course. The eye drops was the biggest problem. Just keep the schedule, and put them in as per doctors instructions. She does not wear glasses at all now, for close up work or watching TV. Only if driving or for distance vision does she wear glasses. It is the first time since she was a kid she does not need glasses or contacts for day to day around the house things. The same doctor says he sees the start of cataracts on my eyes. I can tell my vision is degraded, but I am an geezer and I only wear glasses to read small text. 98% of the time I don't were glasses. If I am going to use my phone I will put them on. I have never been to an optometrist, except to get the prescriptions filled for my glasses. He fits them and sells the frames and lenses. My ophthalmologist does not sell glasses, he is busy as an eye surgeon. |
