Check history. He may respond to a PM.

Sammy was great and crusty as hell but I was glad he had a place to deposit that portion of his personality. If he was truly that angry all the time I feel bad for him but somehow I doubt it was the case.
|
He came up our way on business some time ago, probably fifteen years or more. Afterburn still lived here, and he and I and a bunch of other locals met Sammy for dinner.
Yes, the Sammy I met was very much as angry as presented here. We had a nice dinner, but afterwards, when I hopped into my sport muffled '72 and pulled away, I quite obviously made too much noise for him. He railed on and on, on this very forum, about my patent disregard for anyone living anywhere near the restaurant, and for humanity in general. I essentially idled away from the place... We did see eye to eye on most things around here. I did, however, manage to run afoul of his opinions on a few occasions. On top of the verbal abuse that engendered, I believe he is the only guy to date on this forum who actually physically threatened me. Over posts on an internet forum... In spite of all of that, I wish him all of the best and hope he is doing well. I hope, like me, he was able to unwind a bit once he retired. I know I found myself quite unreasonably "excitable" at times as well. Such are the rewards of high stress jobs. So, if he is still out there, I would welcome the chance to buy him another beer. I think (hope) we have both settled down a bit. And my car is a little quieter now... |
"as angry as presented here." ?
I was at that dinner.. I've never got an angry vibe from Sam. He was a very informative contributor to this bull session of PPOT/PARF |
He was as polite and friendly as could be at dinner.

There is rigidity in his personality...I think of him as being a Bircher...
|
All dispersion aside, I hate it when long-time members depart.
|
Well, there aren't many 'spring chickens' on this forum.

I mean, you can be pretty rigid yet you excel in consistency. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/freak.gif |

i dont really get the concept of a forum where everyone just agrees all the time, but thats what people seem to want around here. |

Good lord:

Good enough for me, just like the rest of you. |

Also, off topic. Take a class or something in etiquette. I think Joe Bob has a $19.95 video you could buy. It's called "How not to act like sugarwood" |

OMG
Thanks for the morning laughs you bunch of old white guys. |
I suspect that most of the psychological analysis of other posters here is worth every penny paid for it (probably so far off that it is laughable if you really knew the person). You really don't know the folks from their online persona and whether they are laughing or crying. Other than the guy who "came out" here...in many cases, one doesn't even know if the poster is a man or woman (and in some cases, they don't know either).
You know for sure that the person that keeps referring to age and race is probably the one with the problems...as who ever really thinks about crap like that or judges people by either? |

Come on guys. Can’t we not be so negative about someone.
Look in the mirror. |
