Porsche IPO is Thursday

I have been following the IPO news somewhat as I am fascinated by the company . Yesterday I told my financial advisor to buy 1k worth on Thursday when they go public on Frankfurt exchange . I know there are huge $$$ players so I am hoping crumbs are available for us little guys .

My financial advisor warned me that 90% of IPO's trade for less 12 months later . I told him I understood and that I had no plans to sell . Will be interesting how this plays out .

After doing some reading, analysts' initial thoughts are that the IPO is 30+% overpriced...

Market timing is a fool's errand. But in this case, why not wait until those "big $$$ players" have taken their profit and the stock drops 20%? Unless you're a "preferred customer" of the IPO brokering firm, buying within days of an IPO seems like a guaranteed short term paper loss.

This is more of an emotional purchase for me vs a good financial venture . It's only 1k so not a huge hit . Others may disagree and that's fine .

"Porsche IPO" - "I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole".

This is not financial advice.

It's so good when poor lil start-ups offer shares as a way to raise capital.

Obviously Porsche is not poor, little, nor a start-up. :-/

Got a call from my financial advisor he couldn't make the purchase . Something about how the shares are setup and being in the US . But there will be a buy opportunity in four weeks . He said that's probably good because the price may be lower then .

Darn. With you as owner (part owner) of the company I was going to ask a favour. I was hoping to get a substaintial discount on a new GT2.
