A 5 qt pouch is going to be a real beyotch!

Hmmm. I never thought about doing this. Still won't. lol

75W-90 isn't motor oil, it's for transmissions. Anyone who has ever tried to get transmission oil into a manual transmission from a one quart bottle will appreciate this innovation.
When someone comes out with motor oil in squeeze pouches I'll be on board with the snarky comments here, but so far all I've seen is a very useful solution to a very messy problem.

Agreed. I've actually used those pouches a couple of times already when changing gear oil in transmissions and in differentials. Way better than pumping from a gallon jug. And I've never actually tried using one of the hard quart bottles, I always pour them into a gallon jug so I can pump. I cannot even see how using one of the hard quart bottles is even possible, at least not on anything I own.

You have to put a tube, (small hose), on the quart bottle tip and squeeze it in. Just did it for the MG differential, PIA.

I've always used my boat lower unit pump on the bottle. Easy peasy.
Watched a friend use one of those pumps that you stick in the barrel and suck it up.
Funny to see him swear as it runs down his arm when filing.

I suspect the folks making the comments noticed that it was gear oil (75-90 is hard to miss) and were trying to be funny, not snarky. Try to assume the best, not the worst.

I've used one of these successfully in the past. It'll depend upon the car and what you're filling how easy it is to use. I'm sure the pouch and one of these would be great.

LOL. Yeah, because gear oil has got to be one of the worst smelling things.

At 15 my dad and I were changing the clutch in a chevy chevette. In the chevette, the shifter goes right into the top rear of the tranny. Since I was slimmer than dad, when it came time to pull the transmission out, I was under the car bench pressing it. I had to rotate it to get it out between me and the bottom of the car. When I rotated it, 10 year old gear oil poured out into my hair. It was disgusting. I spent about 30 mins washing my hair over and over and over again.

Good thread Paul, not something I had every considered.

I will be shaking them up moving forward, only takes a minute and if it potentially helps that is cool, it definitely will not hurt anything.
