Nobel Prize for the Neanderthal Genome...
Today. Svante Paabo.. he took decades to learn how to extract DNA from fossilized bones .. literally extracting DNA from rocks...( this was way before using pseudo soft tissue in teeth roots was done... which is alot easier.). he showed conclusively that anatomically modern humans interbred with neanderthals...ALL of us contain about 5% residual N DNA... he also predicted , solely on the basis of DNA sequence. presence of a whole distinct lineage of modern humans , not extant but died out... the Denisovans..... well deserved...(take that vaccine dudes..)
