While I am not a fan of country music, I always admired Loretta Lynn as a shining example of strength, and overcoming poverty and adversity.
Along with Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn was my mom's favorite, so I heard her songs a lot growing up. Rest In Peace |
Rest in Peace Sweet Lady.

Thank you Peter for posting that rendition.
I always have a little country music in my bike ride playlists. And it usually includes Loretta Lynn. Godspeed to an American icon... |
When I was young, dumb, and ignert .... I disdained all things "country" when it came to music.... as in... long live ROCK!
I could not have been more wrong.... She was special :) RIP Loretta ... |
A true trailblazer and inspiration. The story goes that her husband bought her the first guitar and then she wrote and sang songs about his abuses. Sweet irony!
