Got tired of having a cheap replacement radio in my 993
so I got a Becker radio and had a friend help me install it today. Well that's a lie, I held the flashlight while he installed it.
The Pioneer that I've had for many years worked good but it nagged me that it was not the right radio for my car. My replacement is not quite right either as it's out of a 1996 993 and mine is a '95. Don't tell anybody, please. I like to mention where I bought it, but that might upset Pelican, so let's say it was a shop in NJ that has ads in Panorama for radios. I was a bit nervous that the person who swapped out the last radio may have botched any hope of ever installing a becker, but it all went great! Less than 2 hours. Some pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Don't know how well they work, but you can get a cassette style bluetooth adapter.
Beautiful Beck'r. Looks right.

I have cassettes! I used to have 2 "briefcases" like the one below that were full of cassettes, one with stuff that was recorded or mix tapes and one that was commercial tapes. I am ~99% certain that I've still got one that's full of cassettes. I think I got rid of the other one and half of the cassettes.
![]() The issue is that the Becker won't receive modern HD/digital broadcasts. I assume stations are still broadcasting analog signals.

When we slid the Pioneer out of the dash, I should have taken a pic right then, the tangle and mangle of spliced and taped wire of many colors was enough to make me
regret ever starting this dumb idea. But "ya kan call me Ray" came to the rescue while I went for coffee. He made a very pro job of the wiring after that. Get guy. |

Looks great, did you consider the new Porsche Classic radio?
I have seen places that sell the one you got and I know they are not cheap, but I wonder how expensive the newer one designed for the older cars cost. |

I never gave it much thought, probably should have I guess. But I'm quite pleased with this.
