Yeah, know about the detergent thing. The problem is the lack of water coverage over the clothes. Even with a small load. The other issue is the agitation. Mine has a removable center agitator for larger items. Even with that in place the way the back and forth motion is timed, the clothes barely move. Especially from top to bottom.

.

Having to run clothes twice to get them clean doesn't sound very efficient.

You usually have to put quarters in them to get introduced.

That explains it.

Next you're going to tell me you've never heard of Rippin' Good Cookies.
Sadly no longer made.

Nope, never heard of them.

My washer/dryer are in a laundry room, and I close the door.... so I care not.

Replaced my loud dish washer with a Bosch unit (nuthin' fancy) several years ago.... first thing I noticed was how quiet it was by comparison.

Yup, well built and well insulated house, can barely hear the "dingle jingle" it gives off when done.

100 year old all wood pier and beam home built by the original owner. Sturdy, but barely insulated for energy efficiency or sound.

I just close the door.

The Rippin Good Cookie bakery used to be right across the street from the Speed Queen Factory in Ripon Wisconsin. They had an outlet store we used to hit up regularly.

No affiliation to Speed Queen BBQ in Milwaukee WI.
Can Speed Queen BBQ sauce make a stain so bad that a Speed Queen washer can't remove it? I think a test is in order.

Swapped a Miele for a Bosch.
It’s way way quieter - the pipes for the kids shower drain in the wall make more noise than it does. Dryer is better too.

In fact tbh - every piece of Miele we put in this place was crap.
D/W, W/M, dryer all had issues within 2 years. They’ve all been replaced by Bosch stuff, which is quieter, cheaper and has worked flawlessly so far.

You've never had it so good. You could have one of these...

Suddenly I thought of Maytag. Now those were good.
