9 bucks US per US gallon

ever so slightly under 9, for premium here, in Vancouver.
that's the tipping point for me.
my SC is gonna go bye bye. far sooner than later.
not exactly what i had planned. nevertheless ..... so be it.

OK, that seems silly. $9/gal. And getting rid of the SC because of it.

If your SC is your daily driver, OK I get it.

But if--like most of us--the SC is an extra car, then I can't see the cost of gasoline being a deal-breaker. How much do we drive these cars anyway? Even if gas right now is double its "normal" price, is that really a budget-busting dollar amount from an annual perspective?

(Just trying to talk you off the ledge.)

Good point. I get upset when I fill up the "porsh" but then realize it isn't a daily driver and I enjoy it enough to pay the extra instead of sitting in a movie theater or going to an amusement park.

My daily drivers are a diesel and a vehicle that takes premium. Glad my pain hasn't reached Vancouver levels, yet!

I have $3 gas in my Porsche and $5 premium in the Civic.
I drive the Civic way more .....so I'm thinking of draining both and switching the gas.

What year is your SC? USA or ROW car? Unless it’s been severely modified, it’s an 87 octane car. I get that fuel is extremely expensive but if you’re paying extra to put high-octane in an 8 to 1 compression ratio engine, that’s stupid.

My honorary nephew still claims he loves his Bolt....but he won't race me on a course I mentioned...I even volunteered to use Cindy's Camry. The entire route could be done on one tank in the Camry. He'd have to stop somewhere in the high eastern oregon desert where it's unlikely to be a charging station.

Don't do that, it will come back down. Go and enjoy that car. Filled up my Duramax last week for a camping trip. It was 135 bucks. My 930 get 8 mpg if I get on the gas a bit, not floored. Hwy, it is usually about 10-11 mpg.

Crazy times. Like to get rid of wife's old Sienna at 16 mpg and buy her a Hybrid rad 4 or something now that kids are much older and don't need to travel with a bedroom full of stuff.

I just topped off my 930 this morning, and I calculated it got 10.5 mpg. By far the worst mileage I've ever gotten in the car. Normally it's more of 12-14 mpg city, 18-20 mpg hwy. I must have zeroed the trip meter late or something like that.

A neighbor just bought his college grad son a RAV4 hybrid. That's now a $50K car!
