Black Adam
A great summer movie for the fall. DC doesn't have the same masterful story arc as Marvel but it makes up for it with really fun, quirky offbeat movies that work and Black Adam is a good example. Tons of action, the Justice Society whether intentional or not was a good joke in and of itself, and the story "Rock"ed, bad pun intended. Actually the beginning as a little slow but then someone lit the fuse. Dwayne was perfect as the anti-hero.
Also good to see Amanda Waller. The critics vs. audience score, today was the first day to see it I think, says it all. I suspect audience will get into the 90s. It's just a fun movie. Wait for the post credit scene. <iframe width="961" height="541" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mkomfZHG5q4" title="Black Adam - Official Trailer 2" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1666315123.jpg |

I haven't seen them all, but I've never seen a movie with Dwayne Johnson that wasn't entertaining. He is entertaining.
I'll eventually see this. |

Based on the scene, should make for a great movie sometime next year. |
Based on the trailer, I expect people who enjoy that sort of movie will love it.
Me, not so much. Now, a well-written backstory on Black Doug might be fun ... _ |
Oh hell Marshall’s gonna be pissed at me…

I definitely liked it. I'm fan of DC and Marvel movies, so this was another great entertainment movie.

Saw it yesterday; a guy in the row behind me fell asleep for a bit.
It was entertaining, but some of the characters were too broad, even by comic book standards. The kid, the Comic Relief uncle, some others. As a comics fan, I'm not for making Viola Davis' character the Nick Fury of the DCEU. Nor does some of the backstory stand up: both Dr. Fate and Hawkman have ancient Egyptian origin stories, so them letting Intergang plunder Kandaq for 27 years, only to show up within 24 hours when a local liberator emerges - that was sloppy. And I'm curious what they'll do with Sarah Shahi - in the comics, she becomes Isis, the character from the 1970s show with JoAnna Cameron. |
