The National League champion Phillies and the American League title-winning Astros will meet in the 2022 World Series presented by Capital One and airing on FOX, with the Fall Classic slated to run from Friday, Oct. 28 through Saturday, Nov. 5, if seven games are necessary.

On NPR's Fresh Air last night, they featured the radio play-by-play announcer for the Phillies. Got me in the mood for some baseball.

What a freaking catch! On to extra innings!!!

And the Phillies take Game 1 in extra innings....6-5! Exciting game!

I also have to say - the camera work is just spectacular on all the replays they show. Just amazing they do such a good job of it...

Astros won last night 5-2 so the series is tied 1-1 and now goes to Philly.

Could go 7 games! ;)

PHILADELPHIA -- Game 3 of the World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros was postponed Monday by a forecast of rain throughout the evening. It will now be played Tuesday with Game 4 set for Wednesday and Game 5 on Thursday.

Games 6 and 7, if necessary, will be played on Saturday and Sunday in Houston with Friday serving as an off day. Originally, Thursday was supposed to be a travel day, but MLB pushed Games 6 and 7 back a day to allow for travel now on Friday.

Plenty of interest in Houston and Philly. Go Stros!

Phillies shut out the Stros to take Game 3....7-0!

5 hr in 5 innings, and 7 runs without a runner in scoring position.

I love Philly-Astros tried to order takeout pregame from a pizza joint and then a bbq place, and both refused to send food. And before you start, the Santa sucked.

The BBQ would have been dissapointing, anyway. But then this shows the difference in the hospitality in the cities.

BTW - That was an UGLY game yesterday. McCullers should have been pulled at the second inning.

I don't know what Harper saw, but it was ugly.

No hitter for the Astros, 5-0. Series tied 2-2.

Crazy game...95% pitching duel, 5% small ball run fest. It was like a video game, the character grabbed the magic orb, the music changes, and they had 15 seconds (15 minutes) to play in God mode.

Again, an excellent pitcher (innings 1-4) pulled too late (inning 5). Not sure it would have changed the outcome, but the tally might have been less for the Astros.

OTOH - That was a hell of a pitching game by the Astros. To get a multi-pitcher no-no was fantastic. They had one, also under Javier, in June against the Yankees. Javier is a fantastic pitcher and I hope he is used in game 7, if it is needed.

Congrats to Houston for that outstanding performance last night!

I felt all along this series would go the full 7 games and last night's result further strengthens my opinion on the matter.

Big game tonight....huge for both teams! :)
