Hey you never know --My wife just diagnosed with cancer -- We've been retired /for two years and semi retired for 5 b4 that. We have longevity in our families but that stuff is over rated. You payed in ?
For my money might as well use it . The idea of the extra cash is nice --and sorry- waiting until one is older --at least in my perspective- is gambling that you are young enough -healthy enough at that point to enjoy it. |
The only reason I would regret taking the SS money early...would be if wheelchair maintenance/repairs went sky high in my 90's.
It could happen. I would hate to lose my money at that age.:D |
Since we are pretty frugal compared to our income and are still investing, we would simply have to put it in another investment. It seems as easier to leave it there until 70 and take the increased distributions. At least for one of us. I am thinking about starting to take the wife's next year as she is 3 years older and well past full retirement age.
