Dog hair - any good cordless vacuums ?

Our German shepherd ( shedder ) mix is a hair shedding machine ☹️ . Our house is all hardwood with a few area rugs . My wife currently uses a Swiffer and easily uses 5-6 pads every few days .

So I am thinking maybe a cordless vacuum might be better? Not sure why I think this so asking here. So any of you guys/gals use a cordless vacuum to pick up the hair rugs 😋

Have an Anniversary coming up? Wife's Birthday? If not why not surprise the Little Lady in your life with something that will have her screaming with glee on Christmas morning!

Seriously though, my Wife loves this vacuum. We have the Shark "pet special" corded vacuum that she uses regularly. It really picks up the hair and fur. I got this one for her for Mother's Day and she loves it. It breaks down smaller so she can use it on stairs. Got it at Costco for $199. Here is reconditioned on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Shark-UZ365H-Anti-Allergen-Self-Cleaning-Multi-Tool/dp/B09PMRLRZQ

I didn't link the Costco one because sometimes you have to sign in to see it.

Yikes. You need a good divorce attorney

Just kidding...I am a vacuum romantic myself.

Farm, lots of dogs and cats...we have something very similar to the link you posted. Great piece of gear. We also have two robot vacuum's that patrol every other day on schedule...they really do work.

Happy Holidays!

Miele Triflex HX1. Works fantastic. I like the wall mounted charging station and accessories storage. It's quiet and powerful for a cordless.

Mom has one of ^those^ Dyson vacuums

You also want to get a Furminator, like a curry comb for dogs.

I recently had a anniversary at work, and we get to pick out a gift. Mostly junk we'll never use. I picked a Bissell Cleanview Pet Slim Cordless. I've only had it a couple of days. It's not as good as the Dyson for picking up hair, but at least it doesn't get hair wrapped around the brush. Small, light, same width as a stair tread, so it works good for those. I've been meaning to try it out on the back seat of the truck. The grand-dog is a Husky - GSD, 30 seconds in the back of truck and it's covered.

I told the wife it wasn't her Christmas present, I bought it for our hound. When she's in shed mode I'd swear we could create another dog from the hair.

We bought a Shark, swivel-ball, pet model, etc, etc. when our beloved Dyson had over 200K of carpet cleaning mileage and quit. It is slightly lighter, smaller footprint, definitely as good if not better suction and most of all a lot quieter. We love it

We brush Luke at least twice a week and get plenty of hair each time . I happened to be in Wally world today and they had the Shark pet cordless vacuum in stock . Will do some research on it and see what reviews are like .

Thanks for all that have chimed in , very helpful . We have been married for 44 years so Sue is rarely surprised by what I give her for Christmas 😋 . But it must be working she's still here 😁

Or maybe a gift of a brand new bottle of Dawn and a whole brand new pack of kitchen sponges with the scotchbrite on one side. She'll be lovin' you from dusk to daylight when she sees what you got her.

Timely thread. We have dark hardwoods and I don’t know where it comes from, but there seems to be dirt on it all the time. Even areas we don’t walk in.

Edit. Our daughters golden retriever was here this weekend. Lots of hair.

Edit 2. Amazon vacuum above order.

It's important to get the right kind of dawg...

Light hardwoods require a yellow Lab.
Dark hardwoods require a Chocolate

We have a bunch of Ryobi 18v cordless tools, so I bought a Ryobi Cordless Vac to use in our travel trailer. My wife liked how well it worked so it is used in the house as well as the trailer. The big corded vac only makes occasional appearances. It cleans up hair from our 150lb Saint Bernard pretty well.

My friend that has all hardwood floors uses a leaf blower from time to time

He starts at one end of the house and blows everything out the sliding glass door into the back yard.

Guy at the gym was using a Hoover brand cordless vac. Said it was really good. And a lot of square meterage to do.

Dog hair is the easy bit. It's those nasty dust mites that are out to get you.

My allergist just recommended I toss out all of my pillows as I've developed an allergy to them.

Best post of this entire thread!

I have both, a Dyson Animal 8, and a furminator. The furminator removes so much, every time I brush my dog, and the Animal picks up any remaining hair that still comes off, inside the house. Wouldn't do without either one!
