Anything on your radar?

I was in my local Walmart this morning and walked past the garden center, which is closed for the winter season.
There were big screen tv boxes all over the place. In a small city, like here, I couldn't believe the number of them. I have nothing that I will go into stores for on Friday. If I do buy anything, it will be online.

Just ordered a new pair of Vuarnet Legions in Black and a strap, I have a few pairs in Brown.

Aww jeez. Now I have to go dig out my vintage-1991 cateyes. They were my first "nice" sunglasses and I really loved the deep yellow/brown tint. I can go relive my warren miller/greg stump fantasies, once the mullet grows in. Buying on Friday? Probably a few dozen rounds of pinball at the PHOF in Las Vegas. Otherwise, no. Got too much crap already. Resolving dead relatives' estates in the last year will really make one reconsider how "much" is enough...

The Scottish in me hates to pay more than I have to. So I'll stock up big time on my favourite vino, food for the cats and dogs, and maybe that electric scooter for me

For the last quarter of a century or so, the extended family have gathered out at the "Armadillo Ranch" deep in the woods hidden in the middle of the post oak savannah of central Texas for Thanksgiving. You have to drive about an hour to find anywhere to buy anything at all. So we just hang out off the grid and enjoy the piece and quiet.

If all goes to plan, I will be standing in the middle of a wild river with a flyrod in my hand...

I was in a Walmart yesterday waiting for the pharmacist to get back from lunch (only pharmacy in many miles that's open on Sun). It sucks that they stopped selling hand spoon food. I was browsing through the sporting goods area and saw that a box of 350 rounds of cheap 22 was $25, and there were boxes of 500 rounds that were $40. That's hard to fathom.

There is, and I mean this, nothing I need, or perhaps more importantly, I want other than family. Other than the Hardware Store and the Wine Store, what are these stores you speak of? I kid you not, it has been a few minutes since I have looked at retail. Jolly: Nice place!

I ordered some stuff online today. Black Friday sales started today. My wife bought a nice slow pitch rod, reel and jigs today for my Christmas present. I’ll have to tell her about it before it’s delivered.

I'm hoping a Jura E8 coffee maker will be on sale but that will be a web-based purchase.
On shopping, I'm a regular at my local hardware store, nice to ask them how it's going and they ask about my projects, and for what they don't have, Home Depot. I've gone to this older woman at the HD pro desk for years. I asked her how she was doing the other day, she said in heavy Greek accent, "I'm doing great, it's the people." and we both burst out laughing. Know and talk with long term cashiers at the local grocery store (I shop every other day for food). It's nice to have a sense of community with local stores. I was at a local mall a few months ago, haven't been in years. It was strange. I felt like an outsider or something.

I have not been grocery shopping except to go get emergency stores for 30 years. GS's are my wife's Zen place.
