Restored 1986 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Junior

Curious if your passion for air-cooled Porsche influenced your children like this story. Did any of you do anything like this for your kid(s)? If so, please share it below, we want to see it!

Here are the goods:

"Daniel Arsham's kid got miniature versions of real-life sports cars like the limited edition 1980s Porsche 911 Cabriolet Junior." These things were not cheap back in the 1980s, costing more than a regular family car then (about £3,000, or $3,600), and were sold through Porsche dealerships. Now, you can find them ranging anywhere from £10,000 ($12,000). Only 200 were made, probably much less than that have actually survived.

Here's the story:

Quote:
American artist Daniel Arsham recently posted on Instagram a video of his kid driving a 1986 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Junior. According to @NewYorkNico on Instagram, this version of the miniature racer was restored by the artist for his child and is capable of cruising at 40 mph (64 kph), but we have our doubts about that. The original 911 Cabriolet Junior could only go as fast as 18.6 mph (30 kph).

In the video, the New York-based artist opens the trunk lid of the miniature and yanks out the pull cord. It instantly fires to life. His kid puts it in gear and takes it for a spin around the driveway. He's done this a couple of times before. His confidence and demeanor betray him.

That's really cool, and if I could pick one up for less than a grand I might get one for my grandsons. I'd never pay $3k or $12k for one.
