Patchouli?

Having attended University of Oregon in the 1980’s, I smelled a lot of patchouli.

Not a positive thing for me.

Can anyone explain why some folks will drench themselves in patchouli oil?

WPOZZZ 12-13-2022 10:50 PM

They like to smell "earthy"?

svandamme 12-13-2022 11:12 PM

I worked for a plant nursery for a few years and had a co-worker who would spray herself with it. I hated the smell but she never had trouble with mosquitos (which was her argument for using it).

^^^mosquitos. Might almost be worth it!

The smell of patchouli and the taste of cilantro. Two things I can't stand.

I always figured it was an alternative to regular bathing. Stringy, greasy hair and patchouli go hand in hand to my memory.

(flatbutt, I'm on board with you on cilantro; it's weird how every time I request no cilantro someone always asks "you don't like cilantro?" as if it's the same thing as an orgasm.)

When I was in High School giving a couple friends a ride home in my moms minivan one of the young ladies spilled a vial of patchouli oil. Never heard the end of that from my mom.

That's something I never experienced and given what I was told about my use of LSD it should have.

fastfredracing 12-14-2022 11:00 AM

I just found a bottle, and just for the memes will wear it sometimes .
When I was young and started the hippie festival thing, I just assumed this was the body's natural odor after not showering and eating veggie burritos for weeks on end .
My wife hated it !! I wore it when I was a goofy kid .

LWJ 12-14-2022 11:05 AM

Funny. No flashbacks.

But there are a bunch of stories that won't get told on the internet.

Stuff smells horrible but I love it. It reminds me of getting laid as a youngster

I actually like it, in very limited quantities. Not the people that swim in it.

It reminds me of my concert going days and I like it. I smell it and the song Estimated Profit rings in my ears.
