Is Dino oil going bye bye??

Went to Wally World to pick up oil. Regular oil is basically non- existent. Only synthetics. Same with some of the auto parts places.
Only diesel oil in dino... ..

.

0 or 5w is an economy oil to boost mpg.

Walmart oil variety is very hit or miss depending on store and state. The stores in az can't keep (Rotella t6) oil and Bruce jenner fluid on the shelf.

Good luck finding a gl4 fluid now in days either. A local vendor has the full catalog of motul fluids but rock auto sells it and liqui moly. Pelican sells liqui moly too, but the selection here is extremely limited to the full catalog (start selling the 30 gallon kegs pelican)...

My Walmart carries this, so Dino oil is not dead.

A lot of shops are no longer offering regular oil changes . Full syn only . $100.00 is quickly becoming the base oil change cost .
Remember $9.99 lube oil and filter?

That is my oil for the 911 as well. I always order on Amazon, no issues so far.

I just bought the last 2 5 quart mobile 1 05-40 (think that was it) euro blend. The whole oil section was depleted.

For discussion sake let's say dino oil goes away next year . There probably be millions of vehicles switching over to synthetic . Many of those vehicles have over 100k miles . Would anyone anticipate issues switching to synthetic with high miles ?

As an example I have used both dino and synthetic in my 2001 diesel with 189,000 miles . I basically buy whatever is on sale . I don't think I would have an issue if I went strictly with synthetic but who knows .

What about classic cars ? Hot rods ? Motorcycle and ATV ? Or is there no concern at all ?

I use a light 5-20 Dino oil as a honing oil on my arkansas oil stone. Works great, while I've found synthetic to be too slick to really put an edge on a knife. Luckily, I have a quart on a shelf...probably will last me the rest of my days.

Around here I too notice more “synthetic” on our shelves, but the fine print says it’s a blend. Based on the price they are mighty proud of this “synthetic blend”. Marketing...

Meanwhile the real 100% synthetic containers say so.
