We are sending you folks in the States a huge mass of cold air! It should reach all the way to the gulf coast.
Merry Christmas!
(ps, Thank goodness for natural gas.)

My weather app is projecting next Saturday AM temps near 6 degrees . Our youngest son from Orlando is flying up on the 26th . This could get ugly 😋

Winter is settling in.

I guess I missed setting the clock back on the weather station, but this is a picture I just took.

This is the second or third time this week I've seen the temp that low in the morning here.

We've been down in the mid-20s a couple of times, but this morning there was enough moisture for a hard frost. Does it keep my Lab from jumping in the neighbor's pond for her morning swim .... twice?

Nope !

Yep, my Sis lives in the the panhandle of Florida, Defuniak Springs, and she just told me this morning that there is snow in the forecast for the 25th in her area. Crazy stuff. I just checked my forecast, Alabama, and there is no mention of snow, just a lot of cold!!!!

We've had several nights down in the mid 20's here in good ole sunny San Diego County. Got our first (& maybe only) snow last week - abouit an inch & a half. It was just enough to make for beautiful scenery. We've had a colder than usual winter spell so far.

The snowing has tapered off. Used the snow thrower for the second time today.
They said on Friday to expect 9 to 12.....we got the 12.

SD county is huge, from sea level to 6,000 feet.
15 minutes east of downtown SD rarely a frost, the Plumerias are slowly dropping leaves.
Today the Giant Bird of Paradise get's thinned out.
Sending warm vibes to the snow belt.

I trim White Birds all the time.

Three objectives:

1. Remove lower foliage as needed
2. Remove the taller trunks/stalks as needed*
3. Take off dead birds

* for me, when they get so tall you cannot reach with a pole saw to manicure, or they start leaning somewhere you don't want them to, that's the time to remove

My fav. tools for this work is a cordless Hackzall and a fiberglass telescoping pruning saw...

The Civic seems to do very well in this snow with all-season tires.

It has lsd front drive...might be the reason.

The Rancher is really fun in the snow as long as it's 6" or less

Didn't know Napa got that much snow.
Vineyards must be a few thousand feet below your location?

White birds your local slang for Strelitzia nicolai.
agree prefer to keep them manageable.
This one was planted in the 60s, I trim it with a carpet knife.
Score a line around around the base of a leaf and snap it off.
Makes the trunk look more like a palm tree trunk.
