Another Name that car

Watched a very B movie on youtube. Title "12 hours to kill". Made in 1960. For the life of me, can't be sure what kind of car Barbara Eden drives. Fiat? Early Sunbeam? Maybe Datsun?

Anyway...don't know how to go to screen shots, so go to the 23 minutes mark to first see the car. Driving views show in a bit.

Nice!
This doesn't work for every car in every movie, but it's surprising how complete it is.

Go to https://www.imcdb.org/ (Internet Movie Car DataBase)
top right, type in "12 hours to kill"
https://www.imcdb.org/movies.php?title=12+hours+to+kill
click link
https://www.imcdb.org/movie_53557-Twelve-Hours-to-Kill.html
read through list of 11 vehicles until you get to the last one which says
"1959 Simca Aronde P60 Océane"

Something that I'd never seen/realized before, you can then click the vehicle name and see other movies in which that car appeared. The little Simca seems to have been in quite a few!

You can also search for a particular car (make and model) to find out what movies it's been in (but you can't narrow it to specific years as far as I can tell).

Thanks guys...Since other cars were mostly Chrysler products, maybe Chrysler dealerships also sold Simca? Another of those long gone car makes...but this is one seldom thought of.

Quote:

Simca (Société Industrielle de Mécanique et Carrosserie Automobile; Mechanical and Automotive Body Manufacturing Company) was a French automaker, founded in November 1934 by Fiat S.p.A. and directed from July 1935 to May 1963 by Italian Henri Pigozzi. Simca was affiliated with Fiat and, after Simca bought Ford's French subsidiary, became increasingly controlled by Chrysler. In 1970, Simca became a brand of the Chrysler's European business, ending its period as an independent company. Simca disappeared in 1978, when Chrysler divested its European operations to another French automaker, PSA Peugeot Citroën. PSA replaced the Simca brand with Talbot after a short period when some models were badged as Simca-Talbots.

During most of its post-war activity, Simca was one of the biggest automobile manufacturers in France. The Simca 1100 was for some time the best-selling car in France, while the Simca 1307 and Simca Horizon won the coveted European Car of the Year title in 1976 and 1979, respectively—these models were badge engineered as products of other marques in some countries. For instance the Simca 1307 was sold in Britain as the Chrysler Alpine, and the Horizon was also sold under the Chrysler brand.
