Who all here is an active scuba diver.?
I've been helping several forum members with getting them outfitted with Scuba gear as a new diver. It's reinforced my own passion for diving and the underwater world.
Cozumel Fiji Bali Indonesia Hawaii Belize......... ........all become dive and travel destinations when you're a diver. who else is certified and has traveled the world to remote destinations? Live a board dive boats spoil you! happy Bubbles! ![]()

Cozumel, Hawaii, Belize and a few other places. Warm water diver since 1984. Last time I got wet was about 10 years ago though. My absolutely favorite was night diving with a good light, off a boat of course.

I had to look up Komodo Island on a map. What a cool life, living on a boat in Indonesia doing what you love.
Shades of Travis McGee.

Haven't traveled the world and done it, but do it once a year in Maui (my aunt has a house there). We do a refresher at the aquarium here in CO since we're landlocked.

Rusty Heap is certainly helping me! I am certified and pursuing some advanced courses, going to spend two weeks on Cozumel in later January. WooHoo! I have closely inspected the reef in Belize and it was spectacular.
Diving is really cool, I highly recommend it, and though I do not have much experience (yet) I think the thing I like about it most overall is the weightlessness. Only divers and astronauts get to experience this. I wish I could fly, and diving is the best I can do toward that goal. Also, the sights are sometimes gorgeous. Tropical water is about 85 degrees. Warm. The fishes and corals are stunning. Visibility is virtually unlimited. Even the blue colors of the water itself are mesmerizing.

Visited Komodo dragons, soaked up the Hindu/Indonesian culture and monkey forests for 2 weeks.
thought of some of my fellow Pelicans at the Monkey Temple doing their thing. ![]()

We were very active advanced divers for 20 years but have not been since covid closed the travel door. I need to gather my gear and have the regs serviced since they have been sitting idle.
A few dive travel spots we liked over the years: Maui Hawaii Kona coast Kawai Oahu Bahamas Jamaica Grand Cayman Cozumel Yucatan cenotes Belize- live aboard Truk Lagoon- live aboard
