New (to me) bike day.

I picked up this 2014 Bonneville T100 this week. Drove it home at night in 35 degree weather. Its going to be fun to compare to the Enfield behind it in the spring. I've got some Norman Hyde pipes on the way from the UK for it. I'm going to put a booster plug on it and see where that lands me for a tune. I don't mind a bit of popping off throttle, but it its too much I will delete the air injection and put a proper tune on it. Only has 3.1k miles, it's been siting the last 3 years, so it's getting all the consumable replaced. Very likely will get tires just based on age (they have plenty of tread), but I will wait until spring to see.

Congrats, nice bike! Looks like a bigger version of the Enfield, how does that ride?

The 900SS is what really catches my eye though. May look at getting one again this spring.

I have been a fan of old school Triumphs for ever. It warms my heart that the new ones keep styling from the ones I love. Hope it rides as well as it looks. Congratulations! NBD!

I only got to ride it 15 miles before the weather moved it. Quite a bit different from the Enfield. More relaxed, cruiser style riding position. The seat height and width really tells the story between the 2 bikes. I bought it because I wanted something a bit bigger for longer highway rides. The Enfield is basically a small displacement sports bike with Brit twin styling. It will go 80mph all day on the freeway, but that is not it natural element.

I need several months of warm weather seat time to really compare them. The transmission on the Enfield is superior. Its honestly one of the best transmission I've ever driven. The T100 works fine, but it's definitely more clunky. I really hope there is something wrong with the front brakes, because if not, they are rubbish compared to the Enfield. Not nearly as much stopping power. T100 makes 20 more hp, and it is very noticeable. I really like how it makes power. Can't wait to hear it through a more open exhaust. Overall fit and finish is a bit better on the Bonney, but its not a slam dunk. And keep in mind the Bonney was nearly twice the price when new.

The 900SS....oh how I love her, but the last year has been a saga. Not running at the moment, I think the rectify gave up the ghost. Its blowing the ignition fuse as soon as it starts.

Going through the bike with a fluid change might help with the transmission, and maybe glazed pads in the front? Just a guess. Or simply more aggressive pads. Pad changes in my 911s can make dramatic differences. Never had to on my SS, it just stopped on a dime over and over.

Any time I buy something, especially that has sat, I almost always assume the PO didn't know what they were doing so I hope new this and that will make it a great bike for you.

And good luck on the SS. That bike should never sit. I had to sell mine after doing 130 on the Mass Pike and going back down to 80 felt like walking. Knew I would kill myself soon. But I think I can try again.

The T100 is timeless. I’m curious, are the spoke wheel’s tubeless? I was leaning towards the SE version because it had the cast wheels. I like the look of the spokes much much better however.

Congrats!!
She's a beauty!
Really not far off style wise from the 71 Triumph I provide shelter, tuning and oil for.
Even though it's just a 650, but pulls quite well and has a very comfortable riding position.

Yours will be way more dependable and they've got the shifter and rear brake levers on the correct sides now.

Fun machine!

You need a sidecar for the Enfield.

I had one of the newer Bonnevilles back in 2012. Really a nice bike, but it just didn’t seem to grab me. Kept it for about a year and sold it. But then, few bikes keep my attention for very long.

Same experience here. Had an 09 that was a beautiful bike, but very appliance-like to ride. I also kept mine a year…or a bit less.

I also agree with Upscott. Love the look of spokes until you get a flat 100 miles from home. No fun.

How does a 50 year old bike like this drive like your new one HD?
