Never made it skiing today…

2 smallish deer ran across the highway in front on me… I was driving my wife’s Cayenne Turbo. Blood and 5hit everywhere. The second one made contact…

I hope to hell this is not a write off. This thing is perfect mechanically.

It doesn’t look bad but the intercooler was found in the ditch. There is minor damage to the fender. This is less work than I needed to do on the red Cayenne this past summer.

holy crap!

I did the same in my very similar 2004 Turbo about 100K miles ago (2019). Almost forgot it happened. Hit a big deer at highway speed. Did not cost much to fix here. Built like a tank.

With Cayenne pepper added.

Good luck with the car!

Do you get to keep the deer?

Sorry couldn’t resist

That stinks . Pic doesn't look too bad good luck with the insurance claim and repair . If you can find used parts that will help keep the repair reasonable .

Nasty. Were you headed to Castle? I think Norquay was hosting some races today.
I might ski today. Will make up my mind when I get there.

Yes. We have one racer from the club at norquay this weekend. We were just about to chain lakes when we made deer sausage… not much left of Bambi…

I had similar damage to my brand new Cayenne in 2004 from a road gator/semi tire. Front bumper cap and headlight. It was nearly $5000. Good luck!

A large buck hit me rack in the headlight, butt in passenger door the end of October. I had just done tires, brakes, spark plugs, tie rod and alignment 2 weeks before. This was estimated between $10-12,000.
They totaled it out on me. Just grateful he hit the side and I could drive home. I don't want to think of what would have happened at 60mph if hit was a split second sooner and he went over the hood and into the windshield.

The fender is probably repairable, the headlight is fine. The intercooler and mounts are toast and the aluminum lines are all bent.

I’m guessing $10k.

Someone hit my parents in their minty, 10 yr old Lexus a few months back.... didn't look any worse.... declared totaled & they got a $17K check instead. Couldn't replace the car for that :(.

Good luck!

fintstone 01-08-2023 08:18 AM

I think mine (photo posted earlier) was between $3K and $4K...but I don't think there was any damage to the fender.

We have fender damage and the intercooler is destroyed. Yours appears to be intact still.

Who knew that a Cayenne would run like this?

unclebilly 01-15-2023 06:44 PM

$9940 in damage and they are fixing it… I’m glad it’s not being scraped as I would be buying it back and fixing it myself.

fintstone 01-15-2023 06:47 PM

Good Deal! Thaks for the follow up.

Cajundaddy 01-16-2023 03:57 PM

Sorry man, I hate it when that happens. Deer are just missing something and have no cognitive understanding that fast cars = death. We see roadkill nearly every day.
