Jarran Reed
Why is the NFL not talking about Jarran Reed's future in the NFL? Here is what he did and got away with which took D'Andre Swift out of the game last night. Mr. Swift's condition remains unknown to me at this time.

I don't know...but I'm proud of the game played by the Lions. They never let up and took some chances to seal the win.
It was the best NFL game that I watched all season. Hutchinson was incredible as a rookie. |
They did well. Unlike my Seahawks who did everything they could to lose yesterday and even failed at that.

There are some dirty players and even dirty playing teams. I would not want to be a fan of a team like that. Over quite a few recent years the NFL has put focus on player safety - especially with their targeting rule. That was a shot to the head right there and IMHO should have been put in the same conversation as trying to protect the player's head area, etc. I don't watch pro football like I did when I was younger because I just don't like the theatrics. Old school you went out and did your job then returned to the huddle or sideline. |

^^^ I keep looking for more news items on the Reed hit on Swift. Nothing being said.....sad.
Something more should be done about it. A few items about Walker pushing the trainer...seems it's not his first time either. |
Until the NFL gets involved and bans players totally, or at least for several games, or a season, and throws in large fines the player has to pay, it will not stop.
Much like hockey, the fights are encouraged and expected. Just let them fight it out and the fans love it. |

Hockey fights in the NHL are an entirely different matter...no one fights who does not consent to it and no one simply gets beaten up by someone twice their size. If you've ever heard those, "mic'd up" videos from the ice, the fights are agreed to at the face-off/puck drop and either are a yay or a nay. Interesting fact.

The league officials review it with their lawyers and
decide on fines/punishment. It takes a while for the lawyers to hash it out. Only after it's finalized and handed out do they publicize it. That's when the lawyers from the player's association (union) get involved and file an appeal and the player gets away with it for at least a while. |
Another oddity of the Lions/Packer game....
