What are they? Old Figurines.
These have been in my mother's family since at least the twenties. There is a picture of my grandmother from back then and they visible in the background. Some speculation is that they are German, that's about it. Trying to ID them.

There should be maker’s marks on the bottom.

They look like what my grandmother had. I'll ask my mom.

That's surprising.
They are kind of Hummel-like, but I'm sure if they were Hummel, they'd be marked.

As already said, if they were of any value they would have a mark on the bottom. Do you see anything inside the hole?

They are definitely not Hummels. They appear to be bisque. There is a very similar one to your troubadour figurine (with the tambourine) for sale now on EBay for $99. Search for
bisque figurine tambourine troubadour if interested. Yours appears to be painted better...so one might be more valuable than the other.

I don't know what became of it...but my mother had a porcelain head doll that her great grandmother passed down to her. I remember seeing it in a shoebox...the body parts were basically just old cloth.
She wouldn't let us touch it...saying it was too fragile to handle.

my grandmother painted the ones I have. Look pretty similar. She started with a white clay figure and added the color.

I've always thought that anything collectable without a stamp or signature was pretty much worthless. (or at least for resale)

Unless an expert can identify it. There are items with no stamp that would be worth money, but they may require an expert to positively identify them as such. (my 2˘, I'm far from an expert).

Only items that were normally stamped/signed. Primitive furniture and depression glass come to mind.

I have a Lladro figurine from the mid-80's. My eyes were opened as to how little they are worth.
I think the hobby has gone out of fashion. It would be a good time to buy used if you love the stuff.
