It's been several years since I was a MAMIL (Middle Aged Man in Lycra). The missus hated cycling so after we completed the MS150, I hung up my tights.

Hey I did the same Robin Hood shot multiple times with my 9mm at the range at 25 yards!

I fired off 16 rounds and only had 8 holes, so 8 times the bullets when through the same holes! :p

That was great...been awhile.

Awesome! Jack's the shizzle! Clearly a remarkable young man, and I assume a chip off the ol' block.

Hopefully, he was right eye dominant. Now he doesn't have to worry about keeping both eyes open to aim, or squinting the left. :D

I feel like neither he nor you are letting him be handicapped or sitting around feeling sorry for him, so I think/hope a little lightness isn't offensive.

Not at all - it is encouraged!

He can no longer box so he does Ju-Jitsu. He enters a tournament a month and does well. I think he is three belts in. He started in Law School and really took to it.

He is very much right eye dominant and is happy that if it had to happen, the left eye got the boot.

There was a fly that had been bugging me for the last 5 mins. It flew past the target, not past the bullseye. But I stopped it from bugging me more.

I’ve done this twice Throwing Darts at home. I might have a pic someplace.

First time a buddy was here and witnessed. The second was about 6 months later and I was home alone.

I got another today. I guess the odds at my skill level are probably between 1:1000 and 1:1500. I've gotten better, but not that much better. I used to shoot 12 arrows per end, but to reduce the case of this, I went to shooting only 6 arrows.

I read a book on archery. The guy said it's cool the first couple of times, but after that you just start to think about the cost of the arrows. So far, not too bad, only about $6 per. I've got 6 more spares, wait, 5 more spares. LOL.

The good news is that I am getting better. I'm not shooting like this EVERY time, but I keep "score" just to confirm how I'm doing, if I'm getting better on average, etc..., and there definitely is an upward trend.

Great shot and a story to tell forever, and not saying I could ever do it, but, is that where you were aiming?

And shot by someone else...yes.

However, I commonly see it used to refer to "oops, time to replace arrows".

I have a friend who used to shoot indoor competitive archery. They didn’t even use sights, just instinctive shooting. They were so good they didn’t shoot two arrows at the same little square, ever, for this very reason. Their rigs were very odd looking with 2 or 3ft stabilizers sticking out the front and very light draws relative to my hunting rig. I went there once with my rig and I was quickly humbled. Of course my family thought I was Robin Hood, lol. Shooting a 3” group at 20yds for me would warrant a photo.
It’s always amazing when you start out (with anything) that there are levels upon levels of proficiency that are out there. And yet with enough reps you can get there and before you know it, even though you “know” your skill level, you’re that someone to someone else. That’s how it works. Keep it up!

Uh yeah, I was aiming for the nock of the first arrow, a 1/4" spot from 48'. LOL.

I always intend to hit the "center" of the target. When I do, I'm happy about it. It was just chance that had me run one arrow up the wazoo of another arrow. My bow doesn't have a sight, and even if it did, I couldn't see that well at 50' anyway. The whole point is to be absolutely perfectly consistent from shot to shot, and that's REALLY hard to do. I'm a beginner with <3 months of shooting under my belt.

When you intend to hit the center of the target, and you send enough arrows in that general direction, eventually you're going to hit one arrow with another arrow just by chance.

Yeah, I'm shooting "trad" (traditional) which is no sight, no stabilizer, etc.... It's just a wooden take down bow, arrows, and an arrow rest (rather than shooting off of the shelf). My particular bow is very much a budget bow.

The other usual styles are barebow, which is similar to trad, no sight, but they often use metal risers with weights.

Then there's olympic which usually has a stabilizer or stabilizers and sights.

I'm not sure what style would use stabilizers but no sight. But I'm not that in touch with all of the possibilities.
