Now and then (now vs high school weight)

c/o 1983
I'm up 15 lbs from high school weight. 155 back then and 170 now. However, about 15 years ago, I weighed 235.

What about you guys?

I think I was around 140ish in hs ... around 175 leaving college and that's where I am now. I between ... I have gained and lost about eleventy dozens of pounds. On a couple of occasions after 30 ... I porked in at around 210 ... as I found out I "could finally" gain weight... I ate too much and blamed a bum knee .

I watch it now... got to !

In HS I was 145...now I'm 155, the most I've ever weighed. I'm 71 years old.
Not too concerned about it....when the weather improves, I'll be back to 150

In high school, over 50 years ago, I was around 155. Had to stand twice to make a shadow.
When I worked in the woods and for the dairy, I went to 175. Retirement took me to 210 briefly but my knees (and the Missus ) did not approve. Back to 175 again.

Best

At or perhaps a few pounds under HS weight. Definitely under if we are talking about my senior year after I stopped riding my bicycle 15-20 miles per day (ain't drivers licenses wonderful!)

Granted, between now and then I added almost 100lbs and turned around and lost it...

195 in high school (class of 1982!!). 200 now. I'm 6' 3". I got up to 235 at one point, but got back down to 200 and that seems to be my happy spot.

My high school football program says I was 6'1" and 185 lbs as a senior. That's all I know about then.
I've been 6'2' and weighed around 220 for as long as I can recall, except for about 5 years between 2008 and 2013 when I was running marathons - then I was at 208 and I looked like hell. People would ask me if I was on chemotherapy! I dropped 22 pounds right after my back surgery in 2023. I'm back to 220 now, and it's a comfortable weight for me.

165 as a HS athlete with 11% body fat. 182 today. Definitely nowhere near as fit or ripped but probably not at high risk.

Until I hit 30 I used to eat things to gain weight. Not now!

210 in highs high school, 239 in college, and 185 now. Growing up I ate 2 ribeye or porterhouse steaks/ day and benched 440lb. I played sports. After college I moved to Florida and ate lean meat and ran 10 k’s. The weight melted away. Not only leaner but, felt better. Bad knee from injury over 40 years ago so, only bike and elliptical at the gym.

I don't remember HS weight. Probably 125, 130, I was that super-scrawny kid. Currently 175, 180 - but here's the rest of the story: As a senior in high school I was about 5'8", 5'9". Now I'm 6'2".

That was a long time ago but I think about 150 lbs vs 180 lbs now.

The measurement I find amusing is my high school height was 6' 1.5" and I wore 29x36 jeans (with a true 36" inseam). In college that went to 6' 2.5" tall with 30x36 jeans so my legs were really out of proportion in high school! Now I wear 34x36 jeans and I'm less than 6' 2". I am amused when someone tells me they're 6' 3" as I look down to them

I weighed in at 155 this morning. 5'8". I think this is my ideal weight. I like the way I look and feel here . I was a fat fatty in high school , I bet closer to 180. Shed all the weight a few years after high school, once I started working as a mechanic . I worked at a pizza place right out of high school and that didnt help my fattyness .
When I was cycling in my 20's, I ran just under 150. At one point about 10 years back, I went for a check up and weighed in at 191. I remember being at the beach and putting on my swim trunks in front of the mirror one morning, and all I could think about that image was " yuk"
I dropped about 20 pounds in a few years just by eating healthier. I've always been active .
Since my wife passed, I shed the other 20 . Its easy to not eat when your depressed .
I always had low self esteem as a young man due to my fat body . My parents, and family showed love with food . Short little German Grand ma who's cooking was out of this world . My parents loved food also . Lots of dinners out, deserts , junk food etc.
I had to really put in the work to drop the pounds . It sucks when your buds can eat 2 double cheesburgers, and drink a 6 pack of beer every night and stay thin as a rail. Me, I look at a slice of pizza and get a muffin top.
They took me off blood pressure medication 3 years ago . 54 years old, no meds, Even though ive beat my body to death, I generally feel pretty damn healthy .
